The Schneider Work Experience

At Schneider Electric, we take pride in not only making sure our employees have great benefits, but also that their experiences at work are positive ones.

Flexible Work Schedules
At Schneider Electric, we understand that sometimes life has a way of making it difficult to have the traditional “9 to 5” work schedule, particularly for employees with young families. In most circumstances, employees are able to set their own schedules, provided the needs of our clients and customers are being met.

As well, Schneider Electric has an Alternate Work Arrangement program if it makes more sense for you, given your job, to be a telecommuter, or have a non-standard work-week.

Performance Awards
At Schneider Electric, we recognize that employees want to be known for their accomplishments. That’s why we have gone to great lengths to create effective programs designed to acknowledge those people who make a difference!

Talent Management Philosophy
At Schneider Electric, we believe that our greatest competitive advantage is our people!

We work with our employees to:
  • help identify career path options;
  • help them perform at their best;
  • help create development plans and development opportunities in order to build essential leadership and technical competencies; and
  • be proactive in succession management.

Training and Development
In a global economy, it is essential that our employees are continually learning and developing. At Schneider Electric, we encourage and expect our employees to be continually upgrading their skills and increasing their knowledge, not only for the benefit of the company, but also for their benefit.

Some companies conduct training using only “traditional” internal resources, such as Human Resources professionals. Others have gone away from the “traditional” approach, and instead have partnered only with external institutions to provide training to their employees.

At Schneider Electric, we recognize the value in having the best of both worlds! We are able to draw upon the expertise of our dedicated trainers, who devote all of their working time to researching and developing high-quality soft-skills and technical training.

e-learning and the instructor-led training from the Schneider Electric Learning Center help you to learn a specific skill immediately. As well, we have partnered with educational institutions to augment our already in-depth training offering. By using these sources together, we can develop highly competent business leaders and technical resources.

Your Career
At Schneider Electric, YOU are in control of where you want to go with your career, for only YOU know what will satisfy your career ambitions!

Working with your manager and Human Resources, you can identify your strengths and development needs, identify future growth opportunities in your function (or perhaps another function), and build a rewarding and successful career within Schneider Electric!

Community Relations
Schneider Electric recognizes that we have a responsibility to the communities in which we live and work. That’s why Schneider Electric has engaged in activities designed specifically to help others in need.

From our global initiatives with the Schneider Electric Youth Opportunity Foundation, to the North American initiatives with Habitat for Humanity and The United Way, to getting involved with charities and organizations around specific Schneider Electric locations, we are committed to making our communities a better place to live and work.

Employee Diversity
We pride ourselves on being extremely diverse, both culturally and technically.

As a global company, Schneider Electric recognizes the depth and breadth of skills and abilities in people throughout the world. Our employees also have a variety of educational, technical, and industry backgrounds, which help challenge “the way it’s always been done” to keep Schneider Electric fresh and innovative.

Co-Op / Internship Program
At Schneider Electric, we recognize that the leaders of tomorrow are being educated today.

We have established a Co-Op Program that works with selected Universities and Technical Institutes to give students that require “work credits” for graduation an opportunity to work on relevant and meaningful projects to build on their education!

Don’t require “work credits” to graduate? That is okay, too! You can be a member of the Schneider Team as an Intern, doing relevant and meaningful work to build on your education, as well!

International Recruitment Program (Marco Polo)
Would you like to use your skills abroad?

Do you have a team spirit and are you:

  • Geographically mobile?
  • Adaptable
  • Open to other cultures
  • Pro-active
  • Able to develop networks
  • Fluent in English
Our international recruitment program (known internally as Marco Polo), is specifically designed for a first professional experience outside your home country. It offers you the opportunity to discover Schneider Electric, over a two year period, and to gain experience in a multicultural environment.

After this first period, your professional career will continue in your home country.
