Installation CONVENIENCE is provided to the installer by offering one compact transfer switch and panel package which uses STAB-LOK® circuit breakers. Also, after installation the user enjoys the convenience of switching between electrical sources in a matter of seconds.
CONVENIENCE - USER
All critical loads are permanently connected into the building's electrical system. Transferring the critical loads from utility supply to generator supply is simply a matter of turning off one breaker and turning on a second. Regardless of
the length of the power outage, a few minutes to weeks at a time, back-up power is readily available.
CONVENIENCE - INSTALLER
The panel consists of a transfer mechanism and a loadcentre in one compact package. The panel uses industry recognized STAB-LOK® breakers which are known for their reliable service and are readily available at most electrical wholesale and retail outlets.
SAFETY - USER
The installation will be a permanent and integral part of the building electrical system. Proven circuit breaker protection, using STAB-LOK® breakers on the critical loads prevents circuits from being overloaded. Overloaded circuits cause most residential fires. Once the installation is complete there is no need to perform any electrical wiring in the event of a power
outage. With available electrical power there will be no need to use alternative cooking and heating methods which could provide additional fire and air quality risks to the homeowner.
SAFETY - EQUIPMENT
Mechanically interlocked main breakers ensure only one source can be providing power at any given time. This prevents damage to the generator and to any electronics and appliances in the
residence.
SAFETY - HYDRO UTILITY WORKERS
Mechanically interlocked main circuit breakers ensure that when the critical loads are fed from a generator, that the loads are isolated from the utility system and there is no danger to the workmen down the road.
INNOVATIVE DESIGN
The main breakers use a
unique 3-pole design to switch both the line and neutral conductors simultaneously. This is the recommended switching design when connecting a generator with a bonded neutral (refer to the generator nameplate to determine if it has a bonded or unbonded neutral).
The main breakers are specially designed to ensure that they will be properly installed in the factory 100% of the time. The main breakers have an interrupting rating of 10KAIC. This panel provides short circuit fault protection to the critical loads, up to 10,000A, regardless of the protection level of the existing installation. The main breakers are mechanically interlocked to prevent both breakers from being turned on at the same time. This prevents damage to the generator, appliances and electronics. The mechanical interlock is an integral component of the main breaker assembly and cannot be inadvertently removed in the field which would allow both breaker to be turned on at the same time. |
